Chris Matthews Talk

A discussion of Matthews’ book:

Tip and the Gipper

It is with pleasure we announce a talk by Chris Matthews, host of “Hardball” formerly on MSNBC, who will share key insights from his 2013 book, ‘Tip and the Gipper’. The book narrates how President Ronald Reagan, a Republican, and House Speaker Tip O’Neill, a Democrat, accomplished a great deal despite their polar-opposite ideological convictions - a lesson we could use today. Together the two leaders forged complex negotiations that reformed welfare, taxes, and Social Security, among others.

Chris Matthews (bio) had a front-row seat as a top aide to Tip O’Neill and will tell the story of the two political giants who served our nation well and got things done despite being political opposites.
