About Robert Grieves
Robert Grieves is Chairman of Hamilton Advisors Limited, a strategic communications firm based in Hong Kong. Following a career in journalism for The Times (London) and The Economist (both in Beijing), and Time magazine and Forbes (both in New York), he has been a top-tier communications specialist since 1989.
His communications career has included significant roles at the global public relations firms BursonMarsteller and Edelman, as well as in-house roles at Merrill Lynch, The Bank of New York, and Chubb.
Robert graduated from Hamilton College magna cum laude with a B.A. in English Literature and East Asian History and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his M.S. in Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a concurrent certificate from Columbia’s East Asian Institute.
He was the 2019 and 2020 Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and the 2021 and 2022 Chairman of the Chamber’s Charitable Foundation. He was previously Chairman of the Council of Public Relations Firms of Hong Kong (now PRHK) and a member of the Hike for Hospice Organising Committee of Hong Kong’s Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care. He is a member of the New Canaan Men’s Club, the New Canaan Exchange Club, and the St. Andrew’s Society of New York
