The Columbia Alumni Association of Fairfield County is very excited to invite you to a relaxing outdoor gathering for the whole family!
HIKE & TAI CHI AROUND LAKE MOHEGAN
Lake Mohegan, Fairfield, CT

We will take a leisurely group hike along the Red Trail, a scenic 1.6-mile loop that hugs the shoreline of Lake Mohegan and the Mill River. The trail is relatively flat and easy to navigate, leading us right to the popular Cascades water feature - a great spot for photos!
This hike will include a gentle 10-15 minute group Tai Chi session by the lake, led by our own board member, Henry Hu, to help everyone relax, breathe, and connect.
This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni, meet new friends, and enjoy the outdoors with family (and four-legged companions too).
What to bring: comfortable walking shoes, water, bugs-free spray and weather-appropriate layers.
Meeting Point: Set GPS to 880 Morehouse Hwy, Fairfield, CT 06825. Meet at Main parking lot at Lake Mohegan Open Space (near the intersection of Morehouse Highway & Tahmore Drive).
Look for the Information Board and the trailhead sign — we'll gather there before setting out.

Event Details & Fine Print:
- The Red Trail: A 1.6-mile loop that closely follows the shores of the lake and the Mill River. It is relatively flat, easy to navigate, and leads directly to the popular Cascades water feature.
- Dogs Welcome: Lake Mohegan is popular with dog owners. Dogs are permitted on the open space trails but must be kept on a leash at all times.
- Weather: Historical climate data from Weather Spark indicates that late August is generally an excellent time to hike around Lake Mohegan, as the region enters its drier season, averaging just 0.10 inches of rain per day on August 29 and 30.
