Food Drive in Support of Dorothy Day

THE COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY CLUB OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY (CUCFC), CT, CORDIALLY INVITES YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR SPECIAL DAY OF COMMUNITY SERVICE AT THE STOP & SHOP IN DANBURY.

For years, CUCFC has contributed to Fairfield community in line with Columbia University’s commitment to making a difference in communities world-wide through its alumni groups. We completed a successful Operation Hope Food Drive earlier in 2024, which saw significant amounts of food and supplies collected for those in need, and our next Community Service project in 2024 is a Food Drive in Danbury to support DOROTHY DAY HOSPITALITY HOUSE. This food bank feeds the hungry and shelters the homeless in the Danbury, CT, area and served 55,000 meals last year.

Volunteers are the backbone of Dorothy Day House -- there is no paid staff. In addition, Dorothy Day Hospitality House is based on the Houses of Hospitality founded by Dorothy Day during the Great Depression. Dorothy Day Hospitality House is not formally affiliated with any religious organization, and people of all faiths participate in their work.

To volunteer for the Food Drive event, on the right screen, please input how many other people you are bringing (children must be 13 years or older), then click your choice of 1-hour shift(s), then click "SEND RSVP" to register.
